As many as 7 people were held in the case of a BSF jawan was being reportedly lynched after he allegedly objected against his daughter’s obscene video. The incident was reported from Gujarat’s Nadiad district, and occurred in Chaklasi village earlier on Saturday last week. Following the incident, a case was registered, and the police ended up arresting 7 persons involved in the lynching.
The BSF jawan who became the victim of the horrific crime was identified as 45-year-old Melaji Vaghela while the accused were identified as Shailash Yadav, his father Dinesh Yadav, uncle Arvind Yadav, and other members of the family. The accused group reportedly lashed out on the soldier, and beat him with sharp objects and sticks, until he died at the scene of crime.
As per a complaint filed by the victim soldier’s wife, on Saturday, Melaji, his wife Manjulaben, son Navdeep, and nephew Chirag, visited the accused’s village to scold him for allegedly recording an obscene video of the 15-year-old. They also demanded the accused to delete the clip.
An argument broke out between the two families, which escalated to a point of no return. On being confronted, the accused and his family started thrashing the BSF jawan, killing him on the scene. Meanwhile, other members of the family also sustained injuries.
All the accused were arrested on Sunday evening.
