Sulemana Abdul Samed a man from Ghana claimed to be the world’s tallest man at a dizzying 9ft 6in height. However, on further investigation, the man’s real heigh was revealed, and his claim to fame seems to be diminishing by the day. This is the story of Sulemana, also famously known as ‘Awuche’, who disputed to be the tallest man in the world, only to have his claim brushed aside.

For centuries, the stories of the biggest, largest, baddest, tallest and meanest, have piqued the curiosity of many. So, when Sulemana Abdul Samed’s claim of being the world’s tallest man, at 9ft 6in height surfaced, many were shocked, startled, and speculative. When news media giant BBC heard the murmurs about a man in Ghana making the ‘gigantic’ claims, their team went to Sulemana to settle the debate once and for all.

On reaching at the 29-year-old’s doorstep, they found out that he was told about growing over 9ft tall during a recent checkup. To clear the air, BBC brought a 16ft long tape, made him stand without shoes, with back to the wall.

The real result was shockingly underwhelming, at least for Sulemana, wo found out that he was 7ft 4in tall.

The current record holder for tallest man in the world is Sultan Kösen at 8ft 1in tall.
