In an incident that can truly be dubbed as ‘Raipur Horror’, a 16-year-old girl was brutally stabbed and dragged by her hair on the road by a 47-year-old man with the disturbing video of the attack going viral on social media. The girl is reportedly in critical condition while the attacker was arrested earlier on Sunday.
The accused in the matter has been identified as Omkar Tiwari, a spice shop owner. The victim had previously worked in the man’s grocery shop during the COVID-19 pandemic, and there was an old monetary dispute between them. When the girl asked for her money, the man became intoxicated and went to her house, where he misbehaved with her family.
The girl prevented him from doing so, and the man attacked her with a knife, causing a cut in the side of her neck. She managed to escape, but the man chased her and dragged her by her hair until she collapsed on the road. The incident came to the fore after police were alerted and a team of cops was rushed to the area.
The accused has been charged with attempted murder of the Indian Penal Code and is under investigation. The girl is currently undergoing treatment at a government hospital, and her condition is critical.
