4 Women in UP Elope with Lovers After Taking PM Awas Yojana Money, Husbands & Authorities Confused

 In UP, authorities and 4 men were left baffled after the wives of the men eloped with their lovers when they received the first installment of the PM Awas Yojana. The incident was reported from UP’s Barabanki and the authorities have initiated a probe in the matter, and are tracing the whereabouts of the four women to retrieve the sum they received. The matter came to the fore after the authorities noticed that the construction work on the houses never started to begin with.

For the unversed, the PM Awas Yojana is a scheme initiated by the central government, aiming to address housing issues among people belonging to economically weaker section (EWS), and lower income groups. Under the PMAY scheme, it is mandatory that the female head in a family becomes the co-owner of the house that gets made with the money received under the scheme.

As per reports, the four women in question received a sum of Rs 50,000 in their bank accounts as the first installment. However, as soon as the money got transferred in their accounts, the women abandoned their husbands and families, and eloped with their lovers

After being served a warning by the authorities, the husband reached out to the government officials, asking them to not credit the second installment of the scheme.
