VIDEO : Chinese University Creates “Remote Kiss”, Device with Silicon ‘Lips’ for Long-Distance Couples to Upload Kisses

In a bizarre innovation turning heads, a Chinese university has created ‘remote kiss’, a device with silicon ‘lips’ using which long-distance couples can “upload’ kisses and receive them via the app. Dubbed “Remote Kiss,” the device enables users to send kisses to their partners from anywhere in the world via an app. The device is equipped with moving silicon “lips” that mimic the pressure, movement, and heat of a real kiss, thanks to its state-of-the-art sensors.

According to reports, the device is the brainchild of Jiang Zhongli, a man who had been in a long-distance relationship with his girlfriend during his university days. Zhongli and his girlfriend communicated solely through the phone, which sparked the idea of creating Remote Kiss.

The invention was patented by the Changzhou Vocational Institute of Mechatronic Technology, with Zhongli leading the team that designed the innovative contraption. With Remote Kiss, couples who are miles apart can feel the intimacy of a kiss as if they were right next to each other.

As we wait for the day when teleportation becomes a reality, Remote Kiss could be the next best thing, retailing at a reasonable 260 yuan (approximately Rs 3,000). Jiang Zhongli, who happens to be a graduate of the university filed for a patent in 2019, which recently expired in January 2023.
