It was a jubilant morning for the nation as RRR’s ‘Naatu Naatu’ did the country proud, by wining the award for Best Original Song. On the other side of spectrum, critically acclaimed ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ also won the award for Best Documentary Short. The cheery on top for Indian diaspora keeping an eye on the award ceremony was the dance rendition of Naatu Naatu, that not only enthralled viewers across the world, but also received a standing ovation from the Oscars 2023 attendees.
In the hours that followed, Twitter was flooded with congratulatory notes for the two award winners, with the Prime Minister also taking to the microblogging platform and congratulating the prestigious award winners. “Exceptional! The popularity of ‘Naatu Naatu’ is global. It will be a song that will be remembered for years to come. Congratulations to @mmkeeravaani , @boselyricist and the entire team for this prestigious honour. India is elated and proud,” PM Modi tweeted.

Meanwhile, ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ swept of 7 wins, including Best Picture, Best Director & Best Actress.
